Mike Minogue
Mike Minogue (20 October 1923 – 27 November 2008) was a New Zealand National Party politician, lawyer, and mayor. He attended Timaru Boys' High School, St. Patrick's College Silverstream, and Victoria University. Minogue served as the Mayor of Hamilton from 1968 to 1976 before entering politics as a Member of Parliament. He represented the Hamilton West electorate until 1984. Minogue was known for his opposition to his party leader, Robert Muldoon, and strongly challenged his policies. In recognition of his public service, Minogue was made a Companion of the Queen's Service Order in the 1990 Queen's Birthday Honours. He passed away in 2008 at the age of 85.
