    Michael Lorri Scioscia, born on November 27, 1958, is an American former Major League Baseball catcher and manager. Known by the nicknames 'Sosh' and 'El Jefe,' Scioscia managed the Anaheim / Los Angeles Angels from 2000 to 2018, making him the longest-tenured manager in MLB at the time of his retirement. Before his managerial career, Scioscia played as a catcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he spent his entire 13-year MLB career. He was selected to two All-Star Games and won two World Series championships. Scioscia holds the unique distinction of being the only person in MLB history to spend his entire playing career with one team and his entire managing career with another team, both for over 10 years.
