Mike Wallace (1918-2012) was an American journalist, game show host, actor, and media personality. Known for his investigative journalism, he had a seven-decade career interviewing prominent newsmakers. Wallace was one of the original correspondents on the long-running CBS news program 60 Minutes, which premiered in 1968. While he retired as a regular full-time correspondent in 2006, he continued to make occasional appearances on the show until 2008. Notable interviewees included politicians, celebrities, and academics such as Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Vladimir Putin, Barbra Streisand, and Salvador Dalí. Wallace is also known as the father of Chris Wallace.
