Millicent Mary Lillian Martin (born 8 June 1934) is an English actress, singer, and comedian. She gained popularity as the lone female singer of topical songs on the BBC Television show That Was the Week That Was. In 1964, Martin won a BAFTA TV Award for her work on the show. She received Tony Award nominations for her performances in Side by Side by Sondheim (1977) and King of Hearts (1978) on Broadway. Martin has also appeared in various television roles, including Gertrude Moon in Frasier (2000–04) and Joan Margaret in Grace & Frankie (2017-2022). Born in Romford, Essex, Martin began her career in pantomimes and theater productions in the 1940s and 1950s.
