Misha Collins, born Dmitri Tippens Krushnic on August 20, 1974, is an American actor known for his portrayal of the angel Castiel on the CW television series Supernatural (2008–2020). Collins was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in an irreligious family. Despite facing poverty and homelessness during his upbringing, he persevered and pursued his passion for acting. He attended Greenfield Center School, Northfield Mount Hermon School, and the University of Chicago, studying social theory. Prior to his acting career, Collins interned at the White House during the Clinton Administration. In addition to Supernatural, he has appeared in films such as Girl, Interrupted, Finding Home, Karla, and served as an Associate Producer for Loot.
