Willard Mitt Romney is an American politician, businessman, and lawyer. Born on March 12, 1947, he has served as the junior United States senator from Utah since 2019. Romney was the 70th governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007 and was the Republican Party's nominee for president of the United States in the 2012 election. Prior to his political career, he spent over two years in France as a Mormon missionary. Romney is married to Ann Davies and they have five sons. He has been actively involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) and has held various leadership positions within the church. Romney graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1971 and received a JD-MBA degree from Harvard in 1975.
