Mohamed Diab
Mohamed Diab (محمد دياب, born 1978) is an Egyptian screenwriter and director known for his work on pressing social issues in Egyptian society. He gained recognition for his directorial debut film Cairo 678 (Les Femmes du bus 678), released shortly before the Egyptian revolution. Diab also directed Disney's Marvel series Moon Knight. His film El Gezeira, inspired by the true story of a drug lord in Upper Egypt, set box office records and is a cultural reference in Egyptian pop culture. Diab wrote the sequel El Gezeira 2, which became the highest grossing Egyptian and Arabic film of all time. Cairo 678 remains his notable directorial achievement.
