Montel Brian Anthony Williams (born July 3, 1956) is an American television host, actor, and motivational speaker. He is best known for hosting the long-running daytime tabloid talk show The Montel Williams Show from 1991 to 2008. Currently, he hosts Military Makeover: Operation Career on Lifetime. In addition to his successful television career, Williams is also recognized for his service in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy, from which he retired after 22 years of service. Williams founded the Montel Williams MS Foundation after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1999. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he attended Andover High School in Linthicum, Maryland, and was actively involved in various extracurricular activities, including student government.
