Monty Don
Monty Don, born Montagu Denis Wyatt Don, on 8 July 1955, is a British horticulturist, broadcaster, and writer. He gained recognition as the lead presenter of the popular BBC gardening television series, Gardeners' World. Don was born in Germany and raised in England, where he attended Magdalene College, Cambridge. He started his television career in 1989 with a gardening segment on This Morning. This led to further television opportunities and his own shows on BBC Television and Channel 4. Don has written over 25 books, starting with his first publication in 1990. He also wrote a weekly gardening column in The Observer from 1994 to 2006. In 2003, Don became the lead presenter of Gardeners' World, succeeding Alan Titchmarsh, and held the role until 2008, returning in 2011 after a break due to illness.
