Morgan Davis is a Canadian blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he later moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1968, and then to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2001. Davis achieved success with his song 'Why'd You Lie,' which was a hit for Colin James and featured on James' 1988 debut album. Another of Davis' songs, 'Reefer Smokin' Man,' became a blues cult classic. His major label release, 'Morgan Davis,' was produced by Colin Linden and released on Stony Plain Records. Davis received several awards, including a Juno Award for his 2003 album 'Painkiller.' He continues to be recognized for his talent and contributions to the blues genre.
