Morgan Woodward (1925-2019) was an American actor best known for his roles in the television soap opera Dallas as Marvin 'Punk' Anderson and as Boss Godfrey in the film Cool Hand Luke. Woodward made numerous guest appearances on cowboy shows and holds the record for the most appearances by an actor on Gunsmoke, playing 16 different characters in 19 episodes. He also had a recurring role on The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Woodward served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II before pursuing a career in acting. He graduated from North Texas Agriculture College in 1948 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
