Both of his parents, Monica Bleibtreu and Hans Brenner, were actors, and his grandfather, Renato Attilio Bleibtreu, was a renowned writer. Moritz comes from a family with a rich acting heritage, including ancestors such as his great-grandmother Maximiliane Bleibtreu, her sister Hedwig Bleibtreu, and their parents Amalie and Sigmund Bleibtreu. He gained recognition for his role in the film Knockin' on Heaven's Door in 1997, which set off his successful career. Some of his notable movies include Run Lola Run, Das Experiment, The Baader Meinhof Complex, and Elementary Particles.
