Muggsy Bogues Biography
Tyrone Curtis 'Muggsy' Bogues (born January 9, 1965) is an American former basketball player, known for being the shortest player to ever play in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Standing at 5 feet 3 inches, Bogues played as a point guard for four teams during his 14-season career in the NBA. He played ten seasons with the Charlotte Hornets and also had stints with the Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors, and Toronto Raptors. Bogues was known for his defensive ability and had 146 career NBA double-doubles. After retiring from the NBA, he served as head coach of the Charlotte Sting in the WNBA. Despite his height, Bogues blocked 39 shots in his career, including one from 7-foot-tall Patrick Ewing. Bogues was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland.
