Nabiyah Be is a Brazilian actress and singer, known for her roles in both theater and television. Born on 31 January 1992, in Brazil, she grew up in Salvador, Bahia. Be's father is the Jamaican reggae musician Jimmy Cliff, and she toured with him as a backup singer and dancer from the ages of seven to eleven. She also worked as a backup singer for Daniela Mercury and Carlinhos Brown. Be attended Pace University in New York and earned a B.F.A. in acting. In 2016, she made her professional theater debut in the role of Eurydice in the off-Broadway play 'Hadestown.' She received critical acclaim for her performance in Jocelyn Bioh's 'School Girls; or, the African Mean Girls Play' and won a 2018 Drama Desk Award for her portrayal of Ericka. Be has also showcased her singing talent on various collaborations, including the 2020 song 'Querera' with Brazilian singer and politician M.
