Najla Said Biography
Najla Said (born 1974) is an American author, actress, playwright, and activist. She grew up on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and is the daughter of noted postcolonial scholar Edward Said and writer Mariam C. Said. After graduating from the Chapin School and Princeton University, she trained in acting at The Shakespeare Lab of the Public Theatre. Said has appeared in films such as My Love Affair with Marriage and has made television appearances in shows like New Girl, NCIS: New Orleans, and New Amsterdam. In 2010, she starred in a one-woman off-Broadway play titled Palestine. Said has also written about Arab identity politics in her book Looking for Palestine.
