Nancy Kulp
Nancy Kulp (1921-1991) was an American character actress, writer, and comedian. She is best known for her role as Miss Jane Hathaway on the CBS television series, The Beverly Hillbillies. Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Kulp was the only child of Robert and Marjorie Kulp. Her father was a traveling salesman, and her mother was a schoolteacher and later a principal. Kulp graduated with a bachelor's degree in journalism from Florida State College for Women in 1943. She also worked as a feature writer for the Miami Beach Tropics newspaper, writing profiles of celebrities. Kulp left the University of Miami during World War II to join the U.S. Naval Reserve's Women's Reserve.
