Nancy Silverton
Nancy Silverton (born June 20, 1954) is an American chef, baker, and author. She gained recognition for her role in popularizing sourdough and artisan breads in the United States. Born and raised in Southern California's San Fernando Valley, Silverton enrolled at Sonoma State University as a political science major but had an epiphany and decided to become a chef. She dropped out of college and trained at Le Cordon Bleu in London, honing her culinary skills. Silverton has been awarded the James Beard Foundation's Outstanding Chef Award in 2014. She continues to inspire and innovate in the culinary world through her restaurants, books, and contributions to the food industry.
