Naomi Osaka, born in Japan to a Haitian-American father and a Japanese mother, is a professional tennis player. She has achieved the world No. 1 ranking in singles according to the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), becoming the first Asian player to hold the top spot. Osaka is a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, winning two Australian Open and two US Open titles. She has also secured seven titles on the WTA Tour, including two at the Premier Mandatory level. In 2018, Osaka won her first major title at the US Open, followed by her second major title at the Australian Open in 2019. She is known for being the first woman since Serena Williams in 2015 to win successive major singles titles, and the first to win her first two major titles in successive majors since Jennifer Capriati in 2001.
