Narendra Modi

Narendra Damodardas Modi is an Indian politician and the 14th Prime Minister of India since May 2014. Prior to becoming Prime Minister, Modi served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and is currently the Member of Parliament for Varanasi. Born and raised in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Modi joined the right-wing Hindu nationalist paramilitary volunteer organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of eight. He became a full-time worker for the RSS in Gujarat in 1971. Modi is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is the longest-serving Prime Minister from outside the Indian National Congress.
