Natalie Louise Maines (born October 14, 1974) is an American singer and actress. She gained prominence as the lead vocalist for the country band The Chicks. Maines joined The Chicks in 1995, replacing their previous lead singer. With her as the frontwoman, the band achieved significant success, earning 10 Country Music Association Awards and 13 Grammy Awards between 1998 and 2007. Maines also released a solo album, Mother, in 2013. Born in Lubbock, Texas, Maines comes from a musical background, with her father being a country musician and producer. She attended Nat Williams Elementary School in Lubbock, where she showed early signs of her musical aspirations.
