Nate Mendel

Nathan Gregor Mendel, born December 2, 1968, is an American musician known for his work as the bass guitarist for the rock band Foo Fighters. He is also a former member of Sunny Day Real Estate and has collaborated with The Jealous Sound and The Fire Theft. Mendel released a solo album titled If I Kill This Thing We're All Going to Eat for a Week under the name Lieutenant. Alongside Dave Grohl, Mendel is the second longest-serving member of the Foo Fighters and has appeared on all of the band's studio albums. Born in Richland, Washington, Mendel began his musical journey on the violin before transitioning to the bass.
