Shaffer Chimere Smith, known professionally as Ne-Yo, is an American R&B singer, songwriter, actor, dancer, and record producer. Born on October 18, 1979, Ne-Yo gained recognition for his songwriting abilities with Mario's hit 'Let Me Love You' in 2004. This led to a contract with Def Jam, where he released four successful studio albums and wrote numerous hit songs. Ne-Yo's distinctive tenor vocal range, sharp performing image, and diverse artistry set him apart. He has received several awards, including three Grammy Awards.
