Nev Schulman, born Yaniv Schulman on September 26, 1984, is an American TV host and producer. He gained recognition as the host and executive producer of the MTV documentary series Catfish: The TV Show, which was based on his 2010 documentary film Catfish. Schulman was born and raised in New York City to a Jewish family, and he has an older brother named Ariel Schulman, who is also an actor and filmmaker. Schulman attended Sarah Lawrence College, where he studied photography and dance. He is a co-founder of a film and photography production company and has been involved with the contemporary ballet community in New York City.
