Niall Matter Biography
Niall Matter (born October 20, 1980) is a Canadian-American actor. After recovering from a serious accident on an oil rig, he decided to pursue acting full-time. In 2007, he gained recognition for his role in the teen drama The Best Years. That same year, he joined the cast of Eureka as the character Zane Donovan. Matter had a small supporting role in Zack Snyder's film Watchmen in 2009. He also starred as Evan Cross in the 2012 series Primeval: New World. Moving away from science fiction, Matter appeared in various television movies and joined Canadian series such as Remedy, Arctic Air, and When Calls the Heart. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Matter grew up on a dairy farm and comes from Irish and Russian descent. He worked on oil rigs in Northern Alberta for eight years before pursuing acting.
