Nicholas Gleaves (born 2 January 1969) is an English actor and playwright. He began his acting career in theatre, starting with small roles and eventually playing the lead in Macbeth at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. Gleaves has appeared in numerous television shows since 1992, including roles such as Rick Powell in Playing the Field, Ray Fairburn in Conviction, and Tom Bedford in The Chase. He also portrayed scientist Whitaker in Survivors and DS Andy Roper in Scott & Bailey. With a strong presence in cop shows, Gleaves has expressed his enjoyment of playing such roles.
