Nick Swisher Biography
Nick Swisher is an American former professional baseball outfielder and first baseman, known for his power hitting and excellent plate discipline. Born on November 25, 1980, in Columbus, Ohio, Swisher grew up in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He played college baseball for the Ohio State Buckeyes before being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 2002 MLB draft. Swisher went on to have a successful career, playing for teams such as the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians, and Atlanta Braves. He won the World Series with the Yankees in 2009 and was selected as an All-Star in 2010. Throughout his career, Swisher hit at least 20 home runs in nine consecutive seasons and reached 75 bases on balls seven times.
