Nicolas Winding Refn

Nicolas Winding Refn, also known as Jang, is a Danish film director, screenwriter, and producer. Born on September 29, 1970, he gained early success with films such as the crime drama Bronson (2008) and the adventure film Valhalla Rising (2009). Refn's breakthrough came in 2011 with the action drama film Drive, which earned him the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Director. He has also collaborated with actor Mads Mikkelsen on several projects. Refn has directed stylistically driven films including Only God Forgives (2013) and The Neon Demon (2016). In 2019, he ventured into television with the Amazon Prime series Too Old to Die Young. He later joined Netflix for his next project, returning to his native Copenhagen for the first time since his initial success with the Pusher trilogy.
