Nicole Holofcener (born March 22, 1960) is an American film and television director and screenwriter. She has directed seven feature films, including Walking and Talking, Friends with Money, and Enough Said, as well as various television series. Holofcener received critical acclaim for her film Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Adapted Screenplay and a Writers Guild of America Award. Born in New York City to artist Lawrence Holofcener and set decorator Carol Joffe, Holofcener grew up in Hollywood after her mother married film producer Charles H. Joffe. With her diverse portfolio, Holofcener continues to be a prominent figure in the film industry.
