    Nigel Alan Marven (born 27 November 1960) is a British wildlife TV presenter, naturalist, conservationist, author, and television producer. He gained popularity as the presenter of BBC miniseries Chased by Dinosaurs and its sequel, Sea Monsters, as well as the ITV miniseries Prehistoric Park. Marven is known for his unorthodox and spontaneous style of presenting wildlife documentaries, along with his inclusion of factual knowledge. Growing up in St. Albans, he developed a love for animals and kept various pets, including hamsters, stick insects, boa constrictors, and even an eel in a bath. After studying botany and zoology at the University of Bristol, Marven began his career at the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol.
