Nikkole Salter is an American actress, playwright, and advocate. She gained recognition for her work on the Obie Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-nominated play, In the Continuum, which she co-wrote and co-starred in with Danai Gurira. Inspired by the success of the play, Salter co-launched The Continuum Project, a non-profit organization focused on providing innovative cultural programming for the unification, enrichment, and empowerment of the global African Diaspora. Salter has written seven full-length plays, which have been produced Off-Broadway and in five countries. As an actress, she has performed Off-Broadway and at numerous regional theaters, including Arena Stage, Huntington Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theater, and the Shakespeare Theater Company. Salter was born in Los Angeles and discovered her talent for writing at a young age.
