Nina Flowers

Jorge Luis Flores Sánchez, known as Nina Flowers, is a Puerto Rican drag queen, DJ, activist, professional make-up artist, and reality television personality. Born on February 22, 1974, Flowers gained recognition as the runner-up of the first season of RuPaul's Drag Race and as a contestant on the initial season of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars. Starting his DJ career in 1989, he became a resident DJ at Krash Klub Kafe, a renowned Caribbean club. In 1993, while studying to become a makeup artist, Flowers began performing drag. Notably, he won both the Miss Puerto Rico Continental and Miss City Lights Continental pageants in 1999. The name Nina Flowers is a combination of his favorite rockstar, Nina Hagen, and his last name, Flores, which means flowers in English. Flowers also appeared on Logo's reality series.
