Nitin Ganatra Biography
Nitin Chandra Ganatra is a Kenyan-born British actor known for his role as Masood Ahmed in the BBC soap opera, EastEnders. He was born on 30 June 1967 in Kenya to a family with origins in Gujarat, India. In the 2013 series of Who Do You Think You Are?, Ganatra explored his family's history and their connection to Kenya. His great-grandfather was one of the contracted laborers who helped build the Uganda Railway and his family chose to stay in Kenya after its completion. When Kenya gained independence in 1971, Ganatra and his family moved to Coventry, where they still own a corner shop. Ganatra attended Coundon Court School and Community College.
