Noah Emmerich is an American actor and director born on February 27, 1965, in New York City, New York. He is best known for his roles in films such as Beautiful Girls (1996), The Truman Show (1998), Frequency (2000), Miracle (2004), Little Children (2006), and Super 8 (2011). From 2013 to 2018, Emmerich starred as FBI agent Stan Beeman on the FX series The Americans, earning him the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2019. Emmerich comes from a Jewish background with German, French, Hungarian, and Romanian ancestry. He is the son of a concert pianist mother and a gallery owner and art dealer father. He has two older brothers, including Toby Emmerich, a screenwriter and former chairman of Warner Bros.
