He is known for winning the Best Rookie Actor Award at the 7th Seiyu Awards and the Best Actors in Supporting Roles at the 15th Seiyu Awards. Shimazaki has lent his voice to various characters in anime and video games, including JOSHUA in Dear Vocalist, Soji Okita in Hana no Bakumatsu Koi Suru Cho, and Edmond Dantès in Heroic Spirit Lore Strange Tales.
