Norm Lewis is an American actor and baritone singer known for his versatile performances in various mediums. He has showcased his talent in Europe, on Broadway, film, television, recordings, and regional theatre. Lewis made history by becoming the second African-American actor to take on the title role in Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera, and the first in the Broadway production. He reprised the role in Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, in London's West End in 2023. Lewis has also garnered acclaim for his portrayal of Inspector Javert in Les Misérables, appearing in the Broadway revival, West End, 25th Anniversary Concert, and at The Muny. His extensive theatrical credits include Miss Saigon, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, The Little Mermaid, Chicago, Once on This Island, Chess, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Music Man, A Soldier's Play, and more. Norm Lewis was born in Tallahassee, Florida.
