Norm Macdonald

Norm Macdonald (October 17, 1959 – September 14, 2021) was a Canadian stand-up comedian, actor, and writer. Known for his deadpan delivery and folksy, old-fashioned style, Macdonald appeared in numerous films and was a regular guest on late-night talk shows. He gained a reputation as the ultimate talk show guest and was highly regarded by critics and fellow comedians. Macdonald began his television career as a writer for shows like Roseanne and The Dennis Miller Show. In 1993, he joined Saturday Night Live (SNL) as a writer and cast member, where he anchored the Weekend Update segment for three and a half seasons. Macdonald's talent and unique comedy style made him a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.
