Okieriete Onaodowan, born on August 16, 1987, is an American actor and singer. He gained recognition for originating the dual roles of Hercules Mulligan and James Madison in the 2015 musical Hamilton. Onaodowan also portrayed the character Dean Miller in the ABC drama and Grey's Anatomy spin-off series Station 19. Born in Newark, New Jersey, to Nigerian parents, he was raised in West Orange with his five sisters. Onaodowan attended Gregory Elementary School, Roosevelt Middle School, and West Orange High School, where he discovered his passion for acting after a football injury. He pursued his acting career by joining the New Jersey Youth Theatre and briefly attended Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
