Ole Svane Thestrup (12 March 1948 – 2 February 2018) was a Danish actor known for his appearances in Danish films, television, and theatre. He frequently collaborated with director Anders Thomas Jensen and gained recognition for his roles in various Danish films. Thestrup also had a recurring role in the political drama series Borgen. Born in Nibe, North Jutland, in 1948, he initially pursued a career as a guitarist before transitioning to acting. He trained at Aarhus Theatre and later worked at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. Despite struggles with alcohol abuse, Thestrup successfully overcame his addiction and devoted himself to his craft. He tragically passed away on 2 February 2018 after battling lung cancer.
