Olivier Rousteing

Olivier Rousteing (born September 13, 1985) is a French fashion designer and the creative director of Balmain since 2011. Adopted at the age of 1, Rousteing grew up in Bordeaux and later moved to Paris to study at ESMOD. He started his career at Roberto Cavalli in 2003, eventually becoming the creative director of the women's ready-to-wear collection. In 2009, Rousteing joined Balmain and worked closely with Christophe Decarnin. At 25 years old, he replaced Decarnin as the creative director of Balmain in April 2011. Rousteing has since been instrumental in orienting the label towards a more modern and youthful aesthetic.
