Oliver Stanley 'Olly' Murs (born 14 May 1984) is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He gained fame as a contestant on the sixth series of the television talent show The X Factor in 2009, finishing as the runner-up. Murs was subsequently signed to RCA Records, Sony Music in the UK, and Columbia Records in the US. Before his music career, Murs played Non-League football. His self-titled debut album in 2010 reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and was certified double platinum by the BPI. Murs' subsequent albums, In Case You Didn't Know and Right Place Right Time, both reached number one on the UK charts. He has had multiple number-one singles and continues to be a prominent figure in the music industry.
