Omar Epps

Omar Hashim Epps is an American actor, rapper, and producer born on July 20, 1973, in Brooklyn, New York. Raised by his mother, Bonnie Maria Epps, an elementary school principal, Epps lived in various Brooklyn neighborhoods during his upbringing. At the age of ten, he began writing poetry, short stories, and songs. Epps has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including nine NAACP Image Awards, two Teen Choice Awards, one MTV Movie Award, one Black Reel Award, and one Screen Actors Guild Award. Notable film roles include appearances in Juice, Higher Learning, The Wood, In Too Deep, and Love & Basketball. On television, he is known for his roles as Dr. Dennis Gant on ER, J. Martin Bellamy in Resurrection, Dr. Eric Foreman on House, and Isaac Johnson in Shooter.
