Oscar Goodman Biography
Oscar Baylin Goodman (born July 26, 1939) is an American attorney and politician. From 1999 to 2011, he served as the mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada. Goodman, a Democrat-turned-independent, was succeeded by his wife, Carolyn Goodman, as mayor. Born and raised in a Jewish family in Philadelphia, he attended Central High School and graduated from The Haverford School. Goodman obtained his J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1964. Throughout his career as a defense attorney, he represented notable individuals accused of organized crime involvement in Las Vegas. Goodman and his wife Carolyn have four children.
