Oyin Oladejo

Oyin Oladejo is a Nigerian-born Canadian actress known for her role as Joann Owosekun on the television series Star Trek: Discovery. Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, Oladejo grew up in Lagos before moving to Canada at the age of 16. Initially interested in studying law, she discovered her passion for acting while working as a ticket seller for the Canadian Opera Company. Oladejo pursued her interest by studying theatre arts at Humber College and the Soul Pepper Academy in Toronto. After gaining experience in theater engagements, she landed a supporting role in a short film before being cast as bridge officer Joann Owosekun on Star Trek: Discovery.
