Pat Carroll (May 5, 1927 – July 30, 2022) was an American actress known for her roles in film and television. She gained recognition for her voice work as Ursula in Disney's The Little Mermaid. Carroll appeared in various TV shows including CBS's The Danny Thomas Show, ABC's Laverne & Shirley, and NBC's ER. Throughout her career, she received several awards including an Emmy, Drama Desk, and Grammy Award. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Carroll began acting at a young age and later pursued her passion in Hollywood. Her talent was noticed early on, and she made her film debut in Hometown Girl (1948) and her Broadway debut in Catch a Star! (1955), earning a Tony Award nomination.
