Pat Morita Biography
Pat Morita (1932-2005) was an American actor and comedian best known for his roles in popular TV shows and films. He gained recognition for portraying Matsuo 'Arnold' Takahashi on Happy Days, Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid film series, Captain Sam Pak on M*A*S*H, Ah Chew in Sanford and Son, and Mike Woo in The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo. Morita also appeared as The Emperor of China in Mulan and Mulan II. He made history by being the lead actor in the television series Mr. T and Tina and Ohara, which had Asian-American series leads. Morita received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid.
