Patrick Duffy (born March 17, 1949) is an American actor and director widely known for his role as Bobby Ewing in the CBS primetime soap opera Dallas from 1978 to 1991. He reprised his role in the continuation of Dallas from 2012 to 2014. Duffy also gained recognition for his portrayal of Frank Lambert in the ABC sitcom Step by Step from 1991 to 1998. Additionally, he portrayed Stephen Logan on the CBS daytime soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful from 2006 to 2011 and again in 2023. Duffy has also appeared in the 2014 NBC sitcom Welcome to Sweden as the lead character's father. Born in Townsend, Montana, Duffy has Irish ancestry and attended Cascade High School in Everett, Washington.
