    Patrick Meighan Biography
    Patrick Meighan (born 1949) is an American saxophonist and educator. He specializes in classical music and also performs in jazz, rock, and pop styles. Meighan has studied with renowned saxophonists Samuel Pattie, Galan Kral, Larry Teal, and Sigurd Raschèr. He holds degrees from the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music and the University of Michigan. Since 1974, Meighan has been Florida State University's artist-professor of saxophone, becoming the first individual to hold that position. His students have achieved great success, winning national and international solo and chamber music competitions and holding positions on music faculties worldwide. Additionally, three of his former students are currently members of the prestigious Raschèr Saxophone Quartet.
