Paul Benjamin (February 4, 1935 – June 28, 2019) was an American actor. Born in Pelion, South Carolina, Benjamin moved to Columbia after the death of his parents. He attended C.A. Johnson High School and later Benedict College. Benjamin studied at the Herbert Berghof Studio in New York and made his film debut in Midnight Cowboy (1969). He had small roles in films such as The Anderson Tapes (1971) and Born to Win (1971). In the 1970s, Benjamin focused on television work but also appeared in notable films like Across 110th Street (1972), The Deadly Trackers (1973), and Friday Foster (1975). He also had roles in Leadbelly (1976) and Escape from Alcatraz (1979).
