Paul Gross is a Canadian actor, director, writer, and producer born on April 30, 1959, in Calgary, Alberta. He gained recognition for his leading role as Constable Benton Fraser in the popular Canadian TV series Due South. Gross also wrote, produced, directed, and starred in the 2008 war film Passchendaele. He served as the executive producer of Due South and wrote seven episodes, including the two-part series finale. Additionally, Gross found success in Canadian TV series such as Slings & Arrows and Republic of Doyle. He was born to Renie Gross, a writer and art historian, and Robert Gross, a career soldier. Gross attended Yorktown High School in Arlington, Virginia, where his drama teacher Timothy Jecko inspired him to pursue acting.
