Paul McCartney

Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. McCartney gained worldwide fame as a member of the Beatles, where he played bass guitar and shared songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. He is known for his melodic approach to bass-playing, versatile tenor vocal range, and musical eclecticism, exploring genres from pop to classical, ballads, and electronica. McCartney taught himself piano, guitar, and songwriting as a teenager and was influenced by his father and rock and roll performers like Little Richard and Buddy Holly. He began his career with the Quarrymen, which later became the Beatles. McCartney's songwriting partnership with Lennon is considered the most successful in modern music history.
